What Counts as a Pet Emergency?
If your pet shows any of the signs below, don't wait it out at home — bring them to Akshara Pet Hospital right away. Our ICU and emergency team are on call 24/7 for exactly these moments.
Serious Injuries
Fractures, deep cuts, or heavy bleeding from a fall, accident, or fight need to be seen immediately, not the next morning.
Seizures or Collapse
Repeated seizures or a sudden collapse in a dog or cat can point to a serious neurological problem and shouldn't be watched from a distance.
Trouble Breathing
Laboured breathing, choking, wheezing, or gums turning blue or pale are critical warning signs in both dogs and cats.
Sudden Weakness or Unresponsiveness
Extreme tiredness or a pet that won't respond the way it normally does can be a sign of an internal emergency.
Persistent Vomiting or Diarrhoea
Repeated episodes, especially with blood or paired with weakness, can quickly lead to dehydration or shock in pets of any age.
Heavy Drooling, Panting, or Restlessness
Often a sign of heatstroke, poisoning, or severe pain — this combination in a dog or cat is not something to wait on.
Difficult Labour
Prolonged or stalled labour in a pregnant dog or cat can put both mother and babies at risk without urgent medical help.
Sudden Allergic Reactions
Swelling, hives, or sudden breathing trouble after a bite, sting, food, or medication needs immediate attention.
Not sure if it's an emergency? Call us — our team can help you decide over the phone in seconds.
